ROSIE KAY
Rosie Kay (BA Hons) FRSA, MCR St Cross College, Oxford, is a Scottish-born choreographer and founder of K2CO, established in 2022. After training at London Contemporary Dance School and dancing internationally in Poland, France, Germany, and the USA, Kay returned to the UK and founded Rosie Kay Dance Company (2004–2021). K2CO has Lady Deborah Macmillan as its patron.
Kay’s notable works include 5 SOLDIERS, a multi-award-winning production based on embedded research with the British Army, and 10 SOLDIERS (2019). 5 SOLDIERS is currently being developed into a TV documentary. Other works include Romeo + Juliet (2021), Absolute Solo II (2021), Fantasia (2019), and MK ULTRA (2017). She also choreographed the live Commonwealth Games Handover Ceremony (2018), which reached over 1 billion viewers.
Kay has won several awards, including Best Independent Company at the National Dance Awards (2015) and was nominated for Best Choreography for 5 SOLDIERS (2015). She was appointed the first Leverhulme Artist in Residence at the University of Oxford’s School of Anthropology (2013). Kay is a trustee of Dance Consortium, the UK's largest international dance touring consortium.
